How to Use ReadSavor: Your Multilingual Reading Companion
Welcome to ReadSavor! We are dedicated to providing you with a seamless and efficient multilingual reading and learning experience. Whether you want to read a foreign news article, a PDF e-book, or an academic paper, ReadSavor can help you clear the language barrier.
Below, we’ll show you how to get started quickly in three simple steps.
Step 1: Choose Your Reading Material
ReadSavor supports two main sources of text: free text and PDF files.
On the homepage, you will see two prominent buttons:
- TEXT: If you want to read any text from your clipboard, such as copied web content, articles, lyrics, or emails, click this orange button.
- PDF: If you have a local PDF file, such as an e-book or a research report, click this green button.
Tips:
- For PDFs, we currently support files that contain selectable text. Scanned PDFs that are purely images cannot be processed correctly. For more details, please see our PDF Reading FAQ.
- For text, you can paste content of almost any length. To ensure a smooth reading experience, it is recommended not to paste more than a few hundred thousand words at a time.
Step 2: Configure Your Reading Options
After clicking a button, a configuration window will appear. Here, you need to set your reading and translation preferences.
-
Paste Text or Upload File:
- If you selected TEXT, paste your copied text into the input box.
- If you selected PDF, click the upload area to select the PDF file you want to read.
-
Select Target Language: This is the language you want the foreign text to be translated into. For example, if your native language is English, you can select “English”. You can check our list of supported languages.
-
Select Translation Model: ReadSavor integrates multiple powerful AI models from industry-leading providers like Google (Gemini) and DeepSeek to meet various translation needs. To see how our different plans cater to your needs, check out our pricing page. We will provide you with the latest translation models in real-time as technology advances.
After completing these settings, click the “Start Reading” or “Process” button, and ReadSavor will prepare the reading interface for you.
Step 3: Start Immersive Reading and Translation
You are now in ReadSavor’s core reading interface. Here, you can start reading just like a normal article. When you encounter a word, phrase, or sentence you don’t know:
- Select Text: Double-click a word with your mouse, or drag to select a complete phrase or sentence.
- Click Translate: Click the “Translate” button.
- Get Instant Translation: After a moment, the translation, contextual meaning, and even grammatical analysis of your selected text will be displayed in the translation panel on the side. To learn about the functions of each button on the panel, please see the Translation Panel Actions guide.
Tips:
- Context-Aware Translation: We have a limit on the length of a single selection, but don’t worry. The system has powerful context-parsing capabilities to provide you with the most contextually appropriate translation. This is based on the core principle that context is king for vocabulary memory. You can also understand long sentences by translating shorter phrases multiple times.
- View History & Refresh Translation: The “View” button is used to quickly retrieve your previous translation record for the selected text. The “Refresh” button will re-translate with the current model and update the result.
- PDF Text Selection: When reading a PDF, selecting text might take a few seconds. This is because we need to process the page data in the background to accurately locate the text.
It’s that simple! You can now freely explore and learn any content you are interested in, without language limitations.
